🏢 Palazzo Lombardia

Milano, Lombardia

Palazzo Lombardia is one of Milan's most modern and innovative skyscrapers, home to the Lombardy Region. Located in the Porta Nuova district, it represents the city's architectural evolution into the future, thanks to its sustainable design, futuristic forms, and institutional function.
đź“– History and architecture
Designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners in collaboration with Caputo Partnership and Sistema Duemila, the Palazzo was inaugurated in 2011. It stands 161 meters tall and extends over 43 floors, with an architecture that evokes fluid, organic forms, a stark contrast to the more rigid geometry of Milan's historic buildings.
The entire complex also includes a covered plaza—Piazza Città di Lombardia—which is one of the largest covered plazas in Europe. The structure was built with environmental sustainability criteria in mind and has received several international awards.
