Description of the experience
It starts with a tour directly in the vineyard, then continues with a guided tour of the Cellar together with a flute of bubbles of our La Togata Flute Brut Nature Millesimé.
It continues in the Tasting Room, with 4 types of wine: Brunello di Montalcino Riserva La Togata, Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino La Togata and Supertuscan Azzurreta.
All accompanied by a special dinner with typical Tuscan dishes and a second course of wild boar or the magnificent and traditional Fiorentina.
The price for this tour is €96.00 (VAT included).
For children we offer non-alcoholic alternatives. Minimum 2 people.
The Company
Our Winery, La Togata, is the owner of a small farm in Montalcino, Sant’Angelo in Colle (Siena), and produces a limited number of bottles of Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, Azzurreta IGT Supertuscany, Barengo IGT Supertuscany and Grappa di Brunello, with unique characteristics of body, elegance and aroma.
The vineyards are located in the areas of S. Angelo in Colle, Torrenieri and Pietra focaia, and are at different heights 250-350 meters above sea level, exposed to the sun until sunset. The vines, from which we select the grapes to produce Brunello di Montalcino, are more than 20 years old.
The Cellar has an area for aging with Slavonian oak barrels of different capacities / French barriques / tonneaux and a thermo-insulated area for the conservation of bottles equipped with the most modern computerized systems to maintain a constant temperature that must never exceed 18 °C. The French barriques, 225 Lt, are changed every 7/8 years.
The Oenologist: the control of the vineyards and, more importantly, the treatment of the various stages of grape processing, and the aging of the wine, are managed by a famous oenologist of our trust. The fermentation time varies from 24 days for the "Barengo" IGT Toscana to 28/30 days for the Brunello wines.
