The Capitoline Museums are housed in two grandiose buildings: Palazzo dei Conservatori and Palazzo Nuovo, connected to each other by an underground passage,the Galleria Lapidaria which allows you to cross Piazza del Campidoglio withoutleaving the museum. Among the works that you must not miss to see are Lupa Capitolina, the statue of Constantine, the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius, La Buona Ventura by Caravagio the dying Galata, justto name a few. To get there, reach Piazza del Campidoglio by accessing it from the Cordonata, the stairway that climbs to the top of the hill from Piazza dell'Ara Coeli. It's the most scenic way.
