Day 3: Art and the Lower Town

Morning: Head down to the Lower Town to visit the Accademia Carrara, one of Italy's most important art galleries, featuring works by Botticelli, Raphael, and Titian. Stroll along the "Sentierone," the tree-lined avenue where Bergamo residents love to stroll.
Lunch: Treat yourself to a typical dessert: Polenta e Osei (not savory! It's a sponge cake, cream, and yellow marzipan topped with a chocolate bird).
Afternoon: Explore the Borgo Palazzo neighborhood or go shopping on Via XX Settembre. If you love contemporary art, visit the GAMeC (Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art) before ending your trip with an aperitivo in Piazza Pontida.
