Day 2: The Uffizi and the Oltrarno
Morning: Spend the morning at the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important museums in the world. Here, you'll see Botticelli's "Birth of Venus," as well as works by Leonardo da Vinci and Caravaggio (reservations required).
Lunch: Cross the Arno River and enter the Oltrarno neighborhood (Santo Spirito). Here, you can enjoy Tuscan crostini with chicken livers and pappa al pomodoro (tomato soup) in a more relaxed, artisanal atmosphere.
Afternoon: Visit the imposing Pitti Palace and relax with a stroll through the monumental Boboli Gardens, the green lung of the Medici Grand Dukes, filled with grottoes, fountains, and ancient statues.
