The Civitella del Tronto fortress is a fortified structure built as a stronghold for controlling the territory, with tactical and defensive functions. The mighty structure was built to protect the strategic area that hosts it, rising close to the rock crest, which overlooks the urban center of Civitella del Tronto, seat of the homonymous municipality in Abruzzo, in the province of Teramo.
